Job Summary

Waste Management is seeking reliable and safety-conscious Drivers to join our team. As a Waste Collection Driver, you will be responsible for operating waste collection vehicles to safely transport waste and recyclables from residential, commercial, and industrial sites to designated facilities. This role plays a vital part in maintaining community cleanliness and upholding environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate waste collection vehicles safely and efficiently in accordance with operational, safety, and environmental guidelines.

• Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and related equipment.

• Follow assigned routes to collect waste and recyclable materials from customers.

• Communicate with customers to resolve service issues, answer questions, and provide information.

• Keep the vehicle clean, organized, and properly maintained.

• Accurately log driving hours, rest periods, mileage, and maintain fuel/toll receipts.

• Report any mechanical issues or repair needs to the maintenance team.

• Adhere to all applicable traffic and truck driving regulations, including those related to size, weight, routes, and rest periods.

• Follow all company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Prior experience as a truck driver or in a similar role preferred.

• Strong knowledge of truck driving rules and safety regulations.

• Physically fit and able to perform labor-intensive tasks.

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Strong time management and organizational skills.

• Willingness to drive long distances and travel as needed.
